Tapiovaara wanted to design inexpensive furniture for a broader audience. He made use of materials that were readily available in Finland in the 1940s, such as solid birch. The Aslak chair is a stackable multipurpose chair. The seat & back are made from form pressed birch plywood and frame of laminated birch. It is offered in natural lacquer or painted black or white. It is available with and without upholstery.
llmari Tapiovaara was one of the greatest interior architects and designers of his era.
